About the place

The Mothership

Alley (Hem) 212B Nguyen Trai is perfectly located for travelers seeking authentic Vietnamese culture while having all the modern convenience just a few steps away. Get lost in this massive enclave of urban Vietnamese culture by simply stepping outside our gates or escape from the 24/7 city-bustle of Saigon for a peaceful night of sleep.

At this location, our common space includes a large common area, a full kitchen, a covered balcony, and our main office on the ground floor where guests are welcome to zone out or get productive!

Christina’s Saigon is a fully licensed 3-star hotel with 24/7 online and in-person support.

The neighborhood

Our home is tucked in an alley, away from the rumbling motorbikes but is still very close to the tourist center of Bui Vien and many famous street food locations:

✯ Alleyway is famous for a restaurant called “Oc Dao” serving a local specialty – sea snails.

✯ Quan Chay Ba Xa - Great vegan restaurant just steps away

✯ Ben Thanh Market is only a 10-minute walk away

✯ Bui Vien and Pham Ngu Lao (Nightlife) are 5 minutes away

✯ Nguyen Hue (Walking Street) and the tourist sites that surround it aren’t far off either

Getting around

From our location, you can pretty much walk to most places in the city. Taxis are available for ~15k VND per km. Use Grab if you have a sim card (highly recommend both). Grab also offers the motorbike option so you can avoid traffic and have a blast riding through the Saigon traffic.

Take advantage of our customizable itinerary to plan your trip. This itinerary will provide you with local insight for things to do and direct tour bookings, all in one place. You will receive this link after your booking confirmation.

Other things to note

OUR TRAVELING PHILOSOPHY

"Your two hearts"

The common belief is that we all have one heart but I don't want to believe in this. I think there are two hearts beating in everyone's chest; one is for sharing and one is for keeping.

Your sharing-heart is for putting out pieces and leaving them behind in wonderful places that touched you and made you feel at home. Your keeping-heart is to collect all these loved moments & people you met, and this exactly is the heart of traveling: leaving things behind and keeping other things with you forever.

I hope you felt at home and collected a piece from this place for your keeping-heart and left us a piece of your sharing-heart… just like I did.

Lots of love,

Christina

House rules

Our #1 RULE is to treat our place as if it were yours - unless your place is a college frat house, in which case please treat it like your grandma’s house instead. We hate setting rules but the following are really necessary for us to provide everyone with a great stay:

NO SMOKING on premise. We will be forced to charge a USD250 cleaning fee for any violations and the offender may be asked to leave our property without a refund--it’s really not fair for our guests who paid for a non-smoking experience to have to deal with smoke.

MUST REGISTER all over-night visitors as required by local laws. Also, for the fellows, we are definitely not a "girl-friendly" hotel so please choose somewhere else if that's what you're looking for.

SHOES OFF inside the house. It’s a given in Vietnam but we understand that this can be an issue for some people so we just want to make sure you are aware prior to making a booking.

This is not so bad right?

Value

Christina's fully lived up to its ratings during my six-night stay. In particular, the staff is amazing and helpful without being obtrusive. They made sure my late-night arrival went smoothly and were a great resource over the remainder of my visit.

As for the property, they take excellent care of the common spaces and the rooms. The room itself was spacious with good A/C and strong, reliable Wi-Fi. The furnishings are basic, but decent, and the bed and pillows were more comfortable than many hotels. The washer/dryer availability, comfy bathrobes, and honor bar minibar were all welcome touches.

The neighborhood does become active early in the morning, so if you like sleeping in I'd advise bringing earplugs. The rooster (I think?) down the street is an early riser.

Highly recommended property and an excellent value in Saigon.

Spacious, clean, & cute rooms, with great common areas. Loved the Apple TV, large screen, hammock & kitchen area. Umbrellas were a nice touch. Great communication throughout our stay.

Christinas....always amazing. Tried other places, but always coming back to christinas when in Vietnam. Being so tired after a long flight, we weren't able to experience all the social ammenities they had to offer. Looks like a great place to meet like minded people who are interested in hanging out and having a great time together. Will definitely be back to the mothership to try it out next time! Thank you guys!
