About the place

Christina’s - Hotel & Café (The Mothership)

Welcome to Christina's Saigon! If you can venture into our alleys here, you can venture into alleys anywhere. The alleys are where Christina’s is at our best!

Alley (Hem) 212B Nguyen Trai is perfectly located for travelers seeking authentic Vietnamese culture while having all the modern convenience just a few steps away. Get lost in this massive enclave of urban Vietnamese culture by simply stepping outside our gates or escape from the 24/7 city-bustle of Saigon for a peaceful night of sleep.

At this location, our common space includes a large common area, a full kitchen, a covered balcony, and our main office on the ground floor where guests are welcome to zone out or get productive!

Christina’s Saigon is a fully licensed 3-star hotel with 24/7 online and in-person support.

The neighborhood

Our home (I also live in this building) is tucked in an alley, away from the rumbling motorbikes but is still very close to the tourist center of Bui Vien and many famous street food locations:

✯ Alleyway is famous for a restaurant called “Oc Dao” serving a local specialty – sea snails.

✯ Quan Chay Ba Xa - Great vegan restaurant just steps away

✯ Ben Thanh Market is only a 10-minute walk away

✯ Bui Vien and Pham Ngu Lao (Nightlife) are 5 minutes away

✯ Nguyen Hue (Walking Street) and the tourist sites that surround it aren’t far off either

Getting around

From our location, you can pretty much walk to most places in the city. Grab is the most affordable way to get around if you have a sim card (highly recommend both). Grab also offers the motorbike option so you can avoid traffic and have a blast riding through the Saigon traffic. However, taxis are also available for ~15k VND per km.

Make planning your trip easy with our customizable Itinerary App that you gain access to when you book this Airbnb. With local insight for things to do, direct tour bookings and an easy to use planning tool be sure to look for it after booking!

Ben Thanh city bus station is also just 300 meters away.

Other things to note

"Your two hearts"

The common belief is that we all have one heart but I don't want to believe in this. I think there are two hearts beating in everyone's chest; one is for sharing and one is for keeping.

Your sharing-heart is for putting out pieces and leaving them behind in wonderful places that touched you and made you feel at home. Your keeping-heart is to collect all these loved moments & people you met, and this exactly is the heart of traveling: leaving things behind and keeping other things with you forever.

I hope you felt at home and collected a piece from this place for your keeping-heart and left us a piece of your sharing-heart… just like I did.

Lots of love,

House rules

Our #1 RULE is to treat our place as if it were yours - unless your place is a college frat house, in which case please treat it like your grandma’s house instead. We hate setting rules but the following are really necessary for us to provide everyone with a great stay:

NO SMOKING on premise. We will be forced to charge a USD250 cleaning fee for any violations and the offender may be asked to leave our property without a refund--it’s really not fair for our guests who paid for a non-smoking experience to have to deal with smoke.

MUST REGISTER all over-night visitors as required by local laws. Also, for the fellows, we are definitely not a "girl-friendly" hotel so please choose somewhere else if that's what you're looking for.

SHOES OFF inside the house. It’s a given in Vietnam but we understand that this can be an issue for some people so we just want to make sure you are aware prior to making a booking.

This is not so bad right?

Check In

You'll find on (Hidden by Airbnb) that it's a two star hotel, which is based upon the hotel classification system and is not indicative of the actual experience staying here, which is a commendable five stars. This is a special place founded by an entrepreneur helping support the local community. The rooms are comfortable with finishing touches here n' there that you might forget to bring with you, such as the bathrobes, adding to the overall experience. With a cafe and juice bar downstairs it's a calm place to hangout in the morning and converse with the staff to receive some suggestions before heading out for the day. Unlike the other accommodations in the area, this hotel is rather more restrictive towards unregistered guests, so look-elsewhere if those might fall under your plans. Enjoy your stay in wonderful Saigon at Christina's.
