Other things to note

"Your two hearts"

The common belief is that we all have one heart but I don't want to believe in this. I think there are two hearts beating in everyone's chest; one is for sharing and one is for keeping.

Your sharing-heart is for putting out pieces and leaving them behind in wonderful places that touched you and made you feel at home. Your keeping-heart is to collect all these loved moments & people you met, and this exactly is the heart of traveling: leaving things behind and keeping other things with you forever.

I hope you felt at home and collected a piece from this place for your keeping-heart and left us a piece of your sharing-heart… just like I did.

Lots of love,

House rules

Our #1 RULE is to treat our place as if it were yours - unless your place is a college frat house, in which case please treat it like your grandma’s house instead. We hate setting rules but the following are really necessary for us to provide everyone with a great stay:

NO SMOKING on premise. We will be forced to charge a USD250 cleaning fee for any violations and the offender may be asked to leave our property without a refund--it’s really not fair for our guests who paid for a non-smoking experience to have to deal with smoke.

MUST REGISTER all over-night visitors as required by local laws.

SHOES OFF inside the house. It’s a given in Vietnam but we understand that this can be an issue for some people so we just want to make sure you are aware prior to making a booking.

This is not so bad right?

Check In

Overall we had an EXCELLENT stay at Christina’s the Mothership in Saigon. I would not hesitate to stay here again. This is the perfect place for a short or long stay. It feels like a home away from home.

I booked 2 separate rooms here for our family of 5 adults. We stayed in Saigon, (Ho Chi Minh City), for 7 days and used this place as our base.

Location: The location is great. It’s in walking distance to major shopping and touristy areas. But it can be a little tricky for Grab Drivers to find since it’s down a side alleyway off of the Main Street. But on the bright side, this means the location is much more quiet and private allowing you to have more restful sleep at night.

Security: They do a great job with the security set up here. I really like their system of having a self locking gate as soon as you enter the property. And secondary locking door once you enter the building.

Common Shared Spaces: I really appreciated the cleanliness, warmth and style of the common spaces. I like how there was always someone around in the common spaces to interact with and talk to.

Room Cleanliness and Design and Overall Feel: I LOVE how clean, modern and stylish the entire space feels. I really appreciate their policy of no shoes inside. Upon entering the building, you take off your shoes and switch to house slippers that are provided for everyone. This helps keep the whole place extra clean.

They do a really nice job making you feel welcomed. There’s even a chalk board where they write down everyone’s names and where they’re from. The decorations are stylish, modern and create a comfortable welcoming feel.

In total, our group got to stay in 3 different rooms during our stay, and every room was very nice. They go ABOVE and BEYOND with keeping the space, clean and spotless. I have extremely high standards for cleanliness and the team here does an amazing job. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The team of people who work here are extremely friendly and helpful. They will take their time to sit with you and give you suggestions on what to do and where to eat. This place is a welcome respite and oasis in the midst of the hectic, frenzied chaos of Saigon. I love that their age living plants in every room.

The People: The team of people who work here are just lovely. They will go above and beyond to help you. My family and I really enjoyed spending some time getting to know some of the team members.

They also have a tour company called OneTrip. We had an amazing day touring on motorbikes with OneTrip in Hoi An doing the My Son Temple & Countryside Tour. They also offer many other tours around the Saigon area.

Suggestions for Improvement:

1. Consider not using a scented room sprays at the end of the cleaning process. Especially ones that are synthetic. I’m one of those people who gets terrible headaches from synthetic fragrances. I had to open all the windows and vacate the room for several hours to allow the room to clear.

Most Synthetic Fragrances are not good for the people’s health or the environment... many chemicals used in synthetic fragrances are toxic, cancer causing and act as hormonal disrupters. I was finding this to be an issue throughout my 5 month of travels in Vietnam.

If you really want to spray the room with a scent, consider one that uses real plant based essential oils, like real lemon oil for example. But it’s not necessary, as your rooms are super clean, spotless and a welcome oasis in the middle of Saigon’s frenzy... no fragrance is necessary. The living plants and your beautiful modern, clean rooms are enough to make anyone feel welcomed and at home.

2. Have more than one key available. We ran into this issue as our family was not always doing the exact same activities... and with only one key, I made coming and going a little more of a hassle. Especially late at night when everyone is asleep.

3. Consider offering a real mattress in the larger rooms, for a third guest. I was the third person in our room and had to sleep on the air mattress. Sleeping on an air mattress was a bit uncomfortable. Especially for a 7 day stay.

Certainly one of the best Airbnb host that we ever visited.

You can definitely trust their tips, they were awesome !

Special thanks and congrats to the staff ! You re amazing.

This place is perfect for anyone, for a business trip or for a family to explore and tour around. Lots of restaurants and food vendors nearby, as well as convenient location to get anywhere. Staff are extremely nice and kindhearted, and the rooms and common areas are sparkling clean.
