The neighborhood

Our home is tucked in an alley, away from the rumbling motorbikes but is still close to all these things to check out:

✯ Alleyway is famous for a restaurant called “Oc Dao” serving a local specialty – sea snails.

✯ Ben Thanh Market is only a 10-minute walk away

✯ Bui Vien and Pham Ngu Lao (Nightlife) are 5 minutes away

✯ Nguyen Hue (Walking Street) and the tourist sites that surround it aren’t far off either

Getting around

From our location, you can pretty much walk to most places in the city. Taxis are available for ~15k VND per km. Use Grab if you have a sim card (highly recommend both). Grab also offers the motorbike option so you can avoid traffic and have a blast riding through the Saigon traffic.

House rules

Our #1 RULE is to treat our place as if it were yours - unless your place is a college frat house, in which case please treat it like your grandma’s house instead. We hate setting rules but the following are really necessary for us to provide everyone with a great stay:

NO SMOKING on premise. We will be forced to charge a USD250 cleaning fee for any violations and the offender may be asked to leave our property without a refund‐‐it’s really not fair for our guests who paid for a non-smoking experience to have to deal with smoke.

MUST REGISTER all over-night visitors as required by local laws. Also, for the fellows, we are definitely not a "girl-friendly" hotel so please choose somewhere else if that's what you're looking for.

SHOES OFF inside the house. It’s a given in Vietnam but we understand that this can be an issue for some people so we just want to make sure you are aware prior to making a booking.

This is not so bad right?

Believe me, this is the most thoughtfull and relaxing place I have ever been to, this is what one can call home. If you want to learn how professional hospitality can be achieved don't look out for these standard 5 star hotels - book this accomodation at a fraction of their costs and receive as a professional traveller a surprising lesson in hospitality. Only one flaw: The noise of technical equipment like the sewage pipes and windows which due to the lack of soundproof have not been choosen up to the other high architectual standard of the new high rise building. But of course, ear plugs are readily provided. Pro: here you meet people, hosts and guests alike of one feather: smart, trustful and with stsndards! Tanks team Thu to run thus place so nicely!

Nice house, clean and convenient

We were warmly welcomed by Christina’s team upon arrival. The room was as exact as photo and we loved our stay! We were extremely happy that our room was cleaned every other day. The staff were very responsive and helpful when I needed items like an ironing board or extra blanket. The community areas were lovely and we ended up using them a lot!

Areas to improve:

1) Provide 2 keys instead of 1. The gate needs a key to get out, and when times we went out on different timing, it was very troublesome that both of us need to go out to open the gate so one can get out. Of cos we could ask the staff to help us to tap out but it was just inconvenient especially we were in a rush.

2) Wifi that keeps logging out automatically. We were asked to key in the password every time it logged out and it could be 3-4times in a day.

Other than that, everything was lovely and we look forward to the next stay with Christina’s.
