The Experience

Leave the mainland behind for a day and head over to an island and explore what life is like for the locals that live there. Enjoy activities from learning how to weave basket frames and visiting a beautiful pagoda to boarding a boat for an amazing adventure around the island!

Detailed itinerary

Your personal Onetrip guide will pick you up at your accommodation early in the morning. First stop? A delicious Vietnamese breakfast to wake you up, the same way locals do.

Once you’ve gained your energy, the adventure continues as your guide drives you along the coastal road with breathtaking views of mountains and sea on both sides. We will even pass a mango forest and if it is the right season, you can taste one - fresh out of the tree!

Then, after a quick traditional coffee, we will head over to the first proper stop on the itinerary: a handicraft village in Khanh Hoa where you will learn to weave basket frames. These skills have been passed on for generations, so you will be leaving here with a secret.

Once you become a master weaver, we will head off to a tranquil pagoda and observe the local rituals. You can even get your fortune told by one of the monks - perhaps great things are coming your way. Like sugar cane juice or a fresh coconut! Which is our next quick break, since you’ll need to cool off from the hot sun. After this, it’s time to get on the boat.

The soft waves and the fresh breeze will be extremely welcome as we tour around on the boat. For lunch, we will be stopping at a floating fishing farm. This is where the fishermen raise fish, prawns, etc., for eating. You can either choose to have your lunch here with the locals, or we can get it packed up and set up on the boat where we can enjoy a sunny picnic and a swim. But that’s not all.

We’ve got snorkeling gear ready for you to go underwater and explore the diverse aquatic life. If you are able to remain still underwater, you’ll get a couple fish massages, completely free of charge.

To top off the adventure, you’ll be getting on a banana boat pulled by a canoe to get to your next boat - the iconic Vietnamese basket boat. Learning to paddle this is gonna be a dizzying adventure! Don’t worry, we will capture plenty of pictures for you as you try to keep your balance!

With all this behind us, and the sun setting at the horizon, it’s time to head back. We will finish your trip and this day full of unique experiences at about 6:00 PM when we bring you back home.

Breakfast, drinks, entrance fees, activities and an awesome local lunch are included.

Although the private car option is available, we recommend taking the motorcycle as we think it is the best way to experience our Vietnamese culture. On a bike, we can stop whenever and wherever you want. The freedom is incomparable to anything else you would have experienced.

For those with back problems or family with elderly or young children, we recommend the private car option. (Although, we did once have a courageous 6-year old who loved every bit of the motorcycle adventure.)

We also have a minivan group tour option which can have up to 12 guests for a more social experience.

Please note that there is a 30% cancellation fee for any cancellation made less than 24 hours prior to the tour date since we have to book many services in advance. Otherwise, there is a 5% transaction fee for bookings that are canceled 24 hours prior to the departure in order to cover for transaction processing costs.

The Nha Trang tour was amazing! Our tour guides we're the best! We went at a very comfortable pace where we could stay at things we liked, and spend less time st the things that didn't interest us as much. Favorite parts include riding on the boat, riding the banana boat, and the going through the tunnel at a Buddhist Pagoda. Would highly recommend and will definitely be booking with them again when I return to Vietnam!

I had the chance to experience one of the coolest trips I took in Vietnam with my tour guide, tri. he took me to local farmers and the farmers are so friendly that they, without prior planning, just invited me for lunch and a beer out of respect for my guide, tri. And when I said I would love to have a coconut, Tri just climbed up a coconut tree and grabbed one for me. Also, the island is so pretty. you get to jump from a two story boat into the ocean where the bottom is pure white sand. water quality on around the island is so good.overall, the island tour is an action packed day with tons of opportunities to experience vietnam coastline as local as possible. I would recommend this trip to anyone traveling in the Nha Trang area.
