The Experience

Leave the mainland behind for a day and head over to an island and explore what life is like for the locals that live there. Enjoy activities from learning how to weave basket frames and visiting a beautiful pagoda to boarding a boat for an amazing adventure around the island!

Detailed itinerary

Your personal Onetrip guide will pick you up at your accommodation early in the morning. First stop? A delicious Vietnamese breakfast to wake you up, the same way locals do.

Once you’ve gained your energy, the adventure continues as your guide drives you along the coastal road with breathtaking views of mountains and sea on both sides. We will even pass a mango forest and if it is the right season, you can taste one - fresh out of the tree!

Then, after a quick traditional coffee, we will head over to the first proper stop on the itinerary: a handicraft village in Khanh Hoa where you will learn to weave basket frames. These skills have been passed on for generations, so you will be leaving here with a secret.

Once you become a master weaver, we will head off to a tranquil pagoda and observe the local rituals. You can even get your fortune told by one of the monks - perhaps great things are coming your way. Like sugar cane juice or a fresh coconut! Which is our next quick break, since you’ll need to cool off from the hot sun. After this, it’s time to get on the boat.

The soft waves and the fresh breeze will be extremely welcome as we tour around on the boat. For lunch, we will be stopping at a floating fishing farm. This is where the fishermen raise fish, prawns, etc., for eating. You can either choose to have your lunch here with the locals, or we can get it packed up and set up on the boat where we can enjoy a sunny picnic and a swim. But that’s not all.

We’ve got snorkeling gear ready for you to go underwater and explore the diverse aquatic life. If you are able to remain still underwater, you’ll get a couple fish massages, completely free of charge.

To top off the adventure, you’ll be getting on a banana boat pulled by a canoe to get to your next boat - the iconic Vietnamese basket boat. Learning to paddle this is gonna be a dizzying adventure! Don’t worry, we will capture plenty of pictures for you as you try to keep your balance!

With all this behind us, and the sun setting at the horizon, it’s time to head back. We will finish your trip and this day full of unique experiences at about 6:00 PM when we bring you back home.

Breakfast, drinks, entrance fees, activities and an awesome local lunch are included.

Although the private car option is available, we recommend taking the motorcycle as we think it is the best way to experience our Vietnamese culture. On a bike, we can stop whenever and wherever you want. The freedom is incomparable to anything else you would have experienced.

For those with back problems or family with elderly or young children, we recommend the private car option. (Although, we did once have a courageous 6-year old who loved every bit of the motorcycle adventure.)

We also have a minivan group tour option which can have up to 12 guests for a more social experience.

Please note that there is a 30% cancellation fee for any cancellation made less than 24 hours prior to the tour date since we have to book many services in advance. Otherwise, there is a 5% transaction fee for bookings that are canceled 24 hours prior to the departure in order to cover for transaction processing costs.

This was hands down the best tour that I have ever been on. The tour almost ended before it started, which was completely my fault. However, my tour guide Tri waited for over half an hour until things were sorted out. We then hopped on his motorcycle and drove to a local cafe, the workshop of a basket weaver, a local sugar cane juice shop, the home of a local shrimp farmer for some fresh coconut juice, and finally to the beach where we took a boat to a floating restaurant and then the island. Throughout the day I was constantly impressed with Tri’s knowledge, humor, and positive attitude. It felt like I was hanging out with a longtime friend the whole day. Tri never rushed the tour and continued to remind me that our schedule was flexible and we could take as much time as we needed at each stop. Even more, it was apparent that Tri has developed a close relationship with each of the local families that we had stopped to visit and it was refreshing to see such a mutually beneficial relationship. I could not recommend this tour or Tri more. It was full of amazing landscapes, unique experiences, and great conversation. Book this tour and request Tri if possible!

Onetrip was one of the best tours we have ever been on (motorbike tour for 2 people). Our tour guides, Tin tin and Trang were great fun and very accommodating to all our needs, even though our booking was last minute. The tour was very flexible and we were shown the “real” Vietnam that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to see by yourself. From breakfast, to motorbike rides through the country, to swimming along beautiful island coasts and eating fresh coconuts, we were consistently amazed and impressed by the effort and how friendly both Tin tin and Trang were throughout the whole trip.Above all, Tin tin and Trang were not only our tour guides, but they became our good friends by the end of the trip. Thank you so much Onetrip, Tin tin and Trang for an outstanding time and we would definitely recommend Onetrip tours to anyone who wants to explore the authentic Vietnam experience. We will be back soon!

This is my second experience with Onetrip and it did not disappoint! The Onetrip Island Adventure was my one chance during my time in Nha Trang to get away from the crowds in the city and experience true local Vietnamese culture and beautiful natural scenery. For the full experience, I would suggest the motorbike tour if you can. Driving along the coast provided breathtaking views of the ocean and surrounding mountains. There were a few stops before our destination, which included yummy noodles for breakfast, as well as meeting a local family that was in the basket weaving business. Our final stop was at a secluded beach that only locals knew about, based on my observations. We took a private boat ride around the islands and even went for a swim in the ocean. After working up an appetite, we posted up on a floating restaurant where we had a phenomenal seafood lunch and cracked open a few beers. Sunny clear skies, being on the water, amazing food and company...hard to beat that for a Saturday afternoon! My friend and host for the experience was Tri. His passion and enthusiasm for his home country and his work really shined through. It's always refreshing to meet a person that genuinely loves what they do in life. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a unique experience and want to explore the authentic side of Vietnam.
