The Experience

Take the adventure beyond the city streets and visit Hue less seen. Our local guides will take you to places you wouldn’t otherwise know on your own. Hue is the ideal place to discover a unique mix of arts, culture, and nature and we’ve packed them all in into an experience like no other.

Detailed itinerary

8:00 AM - 12:30 PM / 1:00 PM - 5:30 PM

There’s no better way to start a day in Vietnam than to grab a cup of Vietnamese coffee or fresh juice at a local cafe, the way locals would! Here you will meet your guide who will drive you off to Hue’s less travelled paths.

When you’ve got your energy up and kicking, get on our stylish Vespas and we’ll make our way to a family temple. Here we’ll take a deeper look at Vietnamese family beliefs and practices and learn how members have managed to hold on to these long-standing traditions.

Next, we’ll go on a leisurely walk along a street hemmed by ornate French colonial homes, a destination worth noting for its beauty and cultural value, while listening to stories of how these houses were kept intact for centuries. Photo opportunities abound here so keep an eye on interesting architectural details and get your camera shutters working.

The stroll will lead us to a local market where you can happily get lost among the activities, vibrant colors, and smells of produce on offer. Markets are wonderful places to explore especially if you’re new to the area and feeling adventurous to try new food, so come with an open mind and you’ll surely have a great time!

After going around the market, we’ll set sail on a small boat across the Perfume River. On the other side, our classic Vespas are ready for an escape away from the busy city life. A short ride further will have you meet local workers making worship materials. You can get your hands busy with small folk art prints at the next stop. Sip some refreshing green tea while getting creative, it’s the perfect work setup!

And for a lovely finish, we’ll drive along lush rice paddies to an ancient bridge, a famous local hangout. Meet, chat with, or simply sit next to locals and wind the day down taking in lovely views of the countryside.

They picked us up on time, took us to interesting places safely, and we had a blast! We were up and down the Perfume River in Vietnam to view some beautiful burial sites. Mostly it was a fun way to see the sites! An alternative to cycling and walking!

We've done the "countryside" tour in Huè! AMAZING!!!!We've been guided into the rural areas outside Huè, visiting farmers market, pagodas, local artists, manufacturers and fishermens. Our guide,Miss Nguyên, has been wonderful to teach us about Vietnamese tradition and History of the area. It was definitely what we were looking for from this experience: real places and real peoples outiside the beaten tracks! We really enjoyed the day!highly recommended!!Marco & Silvia from Italy

We had a great time on our Rich Traditions & Hue Countryside tour. A friend had recommend this company to us after a great experience with them in Hanoi. We were all a bit nervous before the tour as we hadn't been on motorbikes before, but the skill and confidence of the drivers made us feel more relaxed. We were 2 adults and 2 teenage boys. They picked us up from our hotel (Hue EcoLodge) which was very kind as it was about 15 minutes out of town. We then met with the guide and other guests at a great coffee shop In Hue. We were given masks to wear which is a good idea as you really notice the smell of the petrol. Our tour focussed on "off the beaten track" which was great. We visited a local market and then caught a tiny "ferry" across the river to our waiting Vespas. We visited a folk painting family and got a great insight into life in the Hue countryside. The guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable about Vietnamese life. As mentioned, the drivers really looked after us and it was fun driving a couple of the big "roundabouts" in Hue - although crazy! At the end of the tour, they very kindly dropped us off at the Citadel rather than our hotel as we were keen to do more sightseeing.I recommend this tour to anyone looking for something a bit different and an experience of local Vietnamese life. The company is extremely professional and we all felt very safe.
