The Experience

Escape momentarily from the busy city life, and see Hoi An through a different perspective as you explore the around the countryside on a bicycle and later, paddle along the De Vong river on a wooden sampan.

Your journey will be as authentic as it gets. Not only will you get to interact with local farmers and fishermen, and learn about their lives, but you will also get to do some farming and fishing yourself! Come experience the real beauty of Hoi An on this fun, adventurous and activity-filled tour!

Detailed itinerary

8:00 AM - 11:30 AM / 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM

You can opt for either the morning tour which begins at 08:00AM and ends at 11:30AM or the evening tour that lasts from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

You will be picked up by our guides at your accommodation and taken to the green, clean and picturesque Tra Que vegetable village where most of the vegetables and herbs you find in dishes served throughout Hoi An are grown. Here you can get your farming skills on and pick your own veggies - which will later be used for lunch/dinner. Don’t be afraid to get your hands muddy!

You will then get on a bicycle and ride through this tranquil village, past rice paddies, gardens and ponds and watch as the local farmers cultivate, care for and harvest their produce. Not only that, but there will be lots of water buffaloes lounging about in the mud and if you’re feeling adventurous enough, you can even try ride one. The photo opportunities will be endless.

Next, you will get to paddle a sampan (wooden fishing boat) along De Vong river and here you’ll have the opportunity to get your fishing skills on as you join local fishermen to catch fish using traditional traps. These too will be used for your lunch/dinner. But before your meal, you will make one last stop at a Japanese graveyard and learn about the historical connection between Hoi An and Japan.

For lunch/dinner, you will get to sit down with a lovely local family and cook with them using the ingredients we collected throughout the tour, all the while chatting about what the rural life is like, learning about their lifestyles, traditions and etiquette. By 11:30AM/7:00PM, we will have you back to your accommodation safely. Not only will you have amazing memories and photographs to take back home, but your tummy will be satisfied too!

Please note that there is a 30% cancellation fee for any cancellation made less than 24 hours prior to the tour date since we have to book many services in advance. Otherwise, there is a 5% transaction fee for bookings that are canceled 24 hours prior to the departure in order to cover for transaction processing costs.

Having lived in Vietnam for 1.5 years, I knew bringing my parents to Hoi An and taking a OneTrip tour would be a must. It did not disappoint! Tri and Trang were the most knowledgeable and wonderful guides. We had so much fun and they answered all of our questions with enthusiasm - even after our tour was over, I was sending Tri messages to find out about snail eggs and cajuput oil! Tri took special care to make sure my medically gluten-free dad was well taken care of at the house where we ate a delicious huge lunch. It was a long day full of great memories and new friends.

This tour was absolutly wonderful, the people I meet are the sweetest is the world :) they made me cultivated vegetables from the fields, they cook for us, they took me on a boat ride! I did this for chrismas and it was the most magical chrismas i ever had ! I recommend anyone to go blindly for it. 200% satisfied for sure.I was with Tuyet Trang and Nguyen Thuy. They are absolutely amazing, friendly and professional and funny :) good sense of humour, we were talking all the timeand singing, + they drive very very well. You are safe for sure.It is one of the best experience i had in my life. One word, one trip ! Just go for it!Girls your amazing, continue with what you are doing :)Rémy

We had such a great time with Thuy and Trang on the village tour! They took us on a bike ride through the village stopping to help water the herbs, ride a water buffalo, take a boat ride through the river and stopping for lunch at an incredible locals home! This has been a highlight of our trip!! Stay at Christina's as well, amazing location.
