You can opt for either the morning tour which begins at 08:00AM and ends at 11:30AM or the evening tour that lasts from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

You will be picked up by our guides at your accommodation and taken to the green, clean and picturesque Tra Que vegetable village where most of the vegetables and herbs you find in dishes served throughout Hoi An are grown. Here you can get your farming skills on and pick your own veggies - which will later be used for lunch/dinner. Don’t be afraid to get your hands muddy!

You will then get on a bicycle and ride through this tranquil village, past rice paddies, gardens and ponds and watch as the local farmers cultivate, care for and harvest their produce. Not only that, but there will be lots of water buffaloes lounging about in the mud and if you’re feeling adventurous enough, you can even try ride one. The photo opportunities will be endless.

Next, you will get to paddle a sampan (wooden fishing boat) along De Vong river and here you’ll have the opportunity to get your fishing skills on as you join local fishermen to catch fish using traditional traps. These too will be used for your lunch/dinner. But before your meal, you will make one last stop at a Japanese graveyard and learn about the historical connection between Hoi An and Japan.

For lunch/dinner, you will get to sit down with a lovely local family and cook with them using the ingredients we collected throughout the tour, all the while chatting about what the rural life is like, learning about their lifestyles, traditions and etiquette. By 11:30AM/7:00PM, we will have you back to your accommodation safely. Not only will you have amazing memories and photographs to take back home, but your tummy will be satisfied too!

Drinks, and a delicious and healthy local lunch/dinner are included.

This was sooo fun! Tham our guide was awesome. We rode a water buffalo, went on a boat trip down the river, rode our bikes through the rice fields and stopped to see how the local farmers grow their vegetables. This was a highlight of our stay in Hoi An!!

I was wary of riding a motorcycle on the streets of Da Nang but once I met Tri and Lyly I knew we were in good hands. First we rode to Hoi An and we got a commentary along the way about some of the history of the area and a little about our friends. I rode with Lyly and we shared a love of singing Ed Sheeran songs while riding. We stopped to pick up bicycles and rode through some beautiful organic farms where we got to meet the locals, water the plants and pick some veggies for our lunch. Tri took some amazing photos for us which he shared later. He's an amazing photographer! From there we rode to ride a water buffalo and along the way stopped at some temples, a burial mound with evidence of the Vietnam war and another locals house for some water and fresh cut sugar cane and pomelo. Then we rode to another nice auntie's house where she had prepared us a huge spread of traditional Vietnamese food. It was insane! All along the conversation with Tri and Lyly was both entertaining and informative. They had questions about our culture as well. The conversation lasted for more than the time we were allotted but are grateful to our hosts that they took the extra time for our questions and conversation. In the end, it felt like hanging out with a couple of friends who had the inside hook up. Theres no way even a seasoned traveller could do something this special on their own.

Did the village tour with Thuy and it was amazing! She is a great tour guide and easy to understand her English. It was a really great experience to see the local side of Hoi An! Highly recommend, you get to ride wild buffalo!
