Detailed itinerary

8:00 AM - 12:30 PM / 1:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Starting off our journey in the heart of the capital, our first point of interest in the tour is the spectacular Long Bien Bridge that was built in the late 1800’s by the French. This bridge spans the Red River and connects Hoan Kiem and Long Bien districts, and due to its pivotal position, it was heavily bombarded during the Vietnam War.

While listening to your history lesson on the back of our vintage Vespas, we’ll drive a couple of centuries back in time to the ancient city of Co Loa. This citadel was the capital city of the Au Lac Kingdom of Vietnam during the 3rd century and is extremely well preserved. Your history lesson will continue as you explore the courtyards and the structures that remain.

Next up is a visit to a local farm in the middle of endless green rice paddies, making you feel as if you are no longer even remotely close to Hanoi. Here we will get up close and personal with farmers and learn a little about their modest lifestyle. From here, a breathtaking ride through the valley takes us to a hidden wood carving village where you will get to see how traditional wooden Buddhist statues are made by craftsmen using ancient techniques that have been passed down through generations and kept within the family.

Finally, the tour ends with a visit to a busy market, where you will be invited by a local family to try a tasty snack. As the tour ends, we will slowly say goodbye to the countryside and enter the concrete jungle of Hanoi once again, and we will drop you off at your accommodation in the city center.
