The Experience

Hanoi is the birthplace of many delicious Vietnamese dishes, including the de-facto national dish, Pho. Join us on this unique and fulfilling journey as we navigate Hanoi’s street food-filled alleyways by motorbike. Make sure you come with an empty stomach, as we aim to please!

Detailed itinerary

5:00 PM - 9:00 PM

We will begin our tour exactly at 5:00 PM, seeking Hanoi’s hidden gems for some grub to eat and some beers to chug. Your guide will tell you all you need to know about the food you get to enjoy on this culinary adventure, from their history and significance, to the ingredients and preparation. Don’t expect anything fancy! The places we have in mind are extremely local--you will be rubbing shoulders with other local diners while watching the chaotic traffic of scooters, cyclos and pedestrians as they pass by.

Beyond enjoying the deliciously authentic Hanoian food, expect some sightseeing as you drive around lakes to catch sunsets, cross bridges, and snake through the beautiful Hanoi Old Quarter with lots of colonial buildings and other sights to see. The night is capped with a final egg beer, after which we’ll drop you home for a good night’s sleep.

While other modes of transportation are available, we highly recommend the motorbike option, as it is the most authentic way to really feel like a local. Make sure to let us know your food preferences or restrictions you may have (including if you’re on a vegan or vegetarian diet) so we can personalize your itinerary for the most yummy experience.

All costs, including those of the meals and drinks, are included in the price.

Please note that there is a 30% cancellation fee for any cancellation made less than 24 hours prior to the tour date since we have to book many services in advance. Otherwise, there is a 5% transaction fee for bookings that are canceled 24 hours prior to the departure in order to cover for transaction processing costs.

My partner and i booked out Hanoi Street Food Tour by Vepsa as we arrived into Hanoi. At first we were a bit thrown off by the price but decided that it would be the best way to see the city and taste some local food. We were greeted at our hotel by Quang who was so friendly and eager to chat with us. Our 2 drivers and additional guides for the night turned up (VA & La) and off we went. I won't go into all the food that we tried but it was so amazing and honestly loved every second of this tour! Not only do you try great local food but you get a tour of the city and some fun conversation. Our guides were amazing and we honestly think this way one of the best things we did in Vietnam. Cannot rate it higher! Do yourself a favour and book!!!!!!!

My wife and I had an amazing time on our tour of Hanoi with Onetrip. First, their website for booking is great - definitely more professional and up to date compared with the competitors. They also have a great chat feature on the website which makes asking questions super easy. We ended up going with the City tour followed immediately by the food tour. Our city tour guides (Ly and Quang) were super fun, nice, and knowledgeable. We were a little late because of a flight delay but they were able to change it a bit so we could still see a lot.The food tour was amazing! Our guides, La and Huy, were fun, energetic, and had a great, laidback attitude. We don't eat pork or drink alcohol, so navigating the food scene in Hanoi is difficult for us but they did an amazing job changing up their normal itinerary to handle our requests. Not only did they take us to some great food spots (also no other tourists were at any of the places we went to) but they gave us the history behind the food and drinks as well which was really interesting. Huy and La also went out of their way to recommend food to try in Sapa and also a huge list of restaurants that they have tried and approved of in Hanoi. The city tour is FREE (a 5USD donation is recommended) and the food tour is totally reasonable considering you are getting all the food and transport on motorbikes included. All in all it was an amazing experience. More so that the sites and the food, our guides La, Huy, Ly, and Quang were a delight to spend the day with and made the experience unique and thoroughly enjoyable. Would highly recommend!!!

Took an evening food tour of Hanoi with Huy, Ly, and Xuyen. This was legitimately the most fun I have ever had on my birthday! I laughed possibly more than I ate, which is a lot. We tasted lots of things that we wouldn’t have been able to find easily ourselves or been brave enough to try without a little encouragement. The tour won’t take you to have the ubiquitous bún cha or bành cuón (which are yummy but easy to locate); you’ll get to eat and drink local gems that will knock your socks off!Our guides were extremely safe drivers, fun to hang out with, excellent English speakers and really knew their stuff. We learned a lot about food, but also the city and history of Vietnam. If you are thinking about a food tour, do this one. It is more expensive than some other options in Hanoi, but there is no better way to see and taste the city than on the back of a motorbike. Highly recommend!
