This tour is brimming with amazing local flavors, interesting finds, and insightful stories of the past you surely wouldn’t want to miss!
There are two options for this tour: one that starts at 08:00 AM and ends at 12:30 PM and one from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
This city tour will take you to places of historic and cultural significance to the Vietnamese, while stringing along some hidden gems only locals know about.
Catch a whiff of the local cafe culture at a stylish local cafe nestled in the Old Quarter and suit yourself to some gorgeous views of the St. Joseph’s Cathedral. After that morning coffee, we’re good to go!
Feel the cool morning breeze as we navigate the exciting twists and turns of Hanoi streets on our way to the railway tracks. See local life up close and if we’re in the clear, snap some photos of the iconic rails. It’s a must in every itinerary!
We’ll also visit a 400-year-old temple where an elderly resident of the Huu Tiep Lake area will share stories of the past and take us a step back in time. A short walk to the lake will bring us to the B52 crash site, the remnants of the 1972 bombing raids of Hanoi and a sobering reminder of the war.
The adventure continues with a stroll around Ngoc Ha market. Explore the nooks and corners of this wonderfully chaotic and lively market where the locals get their weekly supplies cheap and fresh. Don’t stop yourself from picking up a thing or two, there’s no market like this anywhere else.
After exploring the market, it’s time to take the adventure further. We’ll traverse the Long Bien Bridge, a century-old bridge built by Gustave Eiffel that crosses the Red River and connects the districts of Hoan Kiem and Long Bien. With the bridge’s classic design and historic importance, it’s definitely worth the ride.
To complete the Hanoi experience, we’ll drive by the charming Hanoi Ceramic Road, a stretch of beautifully crafted mosaic murals that depict the different periods in the history of Vietnam and stop at a kumquat farm. This place is the perfect respite from the busy streets of the city and a fitting end to our Hanoi adventure.
