The Experience

Want to get to Hue, but not miss out on all the amazing things that the road to our Imperial City has to offer? This tour with a private driver and guide has got you covered.

Detailed itinerary

Your adventure starts from the very moment we pick you up at your accommodation. We will head to a local cafe for either Banh Mi (Vietnamese Baguette Sandwich) or Bun Ca/My Quang (Vietnamese Noodles) and a Ca Phe Sua Da (Vietnamese Coffee). This should wake you up and get you ready for the day’s adventure.

After breakfast, we'll head towards the coast of Da Nang. Our first destination will be Nam O Village, where we will learn about how fish sauce is made. Yes, you know you love our fish sauce… and if you’re lucky, you may even be able to take home a bottle or two.

From there, we will begin ascending towards the famous Hai Van Pass that you might have seen on BBC’s Top Gear. Make sure to have your selfie-stick ready! Besides the amazing views, our guides will share with you the history and the strategic military importance of this pass to Vietnam.

Our next stop will be the Lang Co Lagoon, where we can cool off by a beautiful waterfall or a secret beach on sunny days and enjoy a local Vietnamese lunch. Once everyone is fully fed, it's time to hit the road again towards Hue City.

As eventful as the morning has been, there’s certainly no end yet to all the amazing impressions you’ll receive on this day, as we continue driving you over beautiful unique countryside roads, freely breathing in the fresh air and experiencing the sights of locals growing their various vegetables, stunning rice paddies and surprisingly big cemeteries such as the “City of Ghosts.”

You guessed it, this is a trip where you don’t want to forget your camera, to capture all those great moments and stunning views before we drop you off at your accommodation in Hue between 4:00 - 5:00 PM.

Breakfast, drinks, and an awesome local lunch are included.

Although the private car option is available, we recommend taking the motorcycle option as we think it is the best way to experience our Vietnamese culture. On a bike, we can stop whenever and wherever you want. The freedom is incomparable to anything else you've ever experienced.

For those with back problems or family with elderly or young children, then we recommend the private car option. Although, we have had a courageous 6-year old having a blast, loving every bit of the adventure.

We also have a minivan group tour option which can have up to 12 guests for a more social experience.

Please note that there is a 30% cancellation fee for any cancellation made less than 24 hours prior to the tour date since we have to book many services in advance. Otherwise, there is a 5% transaction fee for bookings that are canceled 24 hours prior to the departure in order to cover for transaction processing costs.

Thank you Sang for an awesome day - went beyond the expectations. Leave it up to the good hands of their guides because they may surprise you each time you go. Will be back again for sure. Enjoy!

I am a true believer that only a local can show tourists the real flavor of the area. Harry, who grew up and still resides in Da Nang, was the ultimate tour guide. He was very enthusiastic and catered to my interests! If you book a tour make sure you request him - you won’t regret it!

As always Onetrip delivered again. Our guide Brian was very knowledgeable and fun. His English was excellent and certainly I can say it felt like talking to a friend from Australia not a local Vietnamese. We stopped many times along the way to Hue, the first being for a look at the local fishing village and then lovely noodle breakfast bowl and onto a friendly family home to witness the making of fish sauce. Wow what a process- fascinating and we left with a sample bottle. The Hai Van pass was too beautiful for words or even the many pictures we took to do it justice. Coffee along the way was welcomed as we sat overlooking the valley before us. Lunch was at a secret waterfall destination actually discovered originally by Brian and two other Onetrip guides. We climbed up higher to a crystal clear pool and got the most amazing pictures with the whole area up there to ourselves. Lunch was ready when we walked down and was so tasty. Then we went to an ornate tomb site which was mind blowing. We arrived happily and a little tired but exhilarated into Hue and to our hotel. What a great way to spend the day. I couldn’t recommend it more. Well done Brian and Onetrip. Many thanks and the memories will last forever. Dionnie
