To make sure you have selected a suitable fit for your stay, please make sure to acknowledge the pro's and con's of this unique accommodation as outlined in the listing description:
Our place is located in the lively urban part of D1, just steps to one of the hottest nightlife spot of HCMC - the Bui Vien Backpacker area. Tucked in an alley just off the main road, this apartment is a perfect fit for those who love the energy Saigon's nightlife has to offer, but still get that comfy quality sleep when coming back.
For guests who prefer to stay in to relax during the daytime or are noise sensitive, this apartment might not be the recommended choice, since there is a construction site nearby which can be heard from 8:30AM to 4:30PM.
If this should be an issue, we would be happy to offer alternative units to absolutely make sure you are enjoying your stay during your time in Ho Chi Minh City.
This spacious studio is also fully equipped to meet all your needs:
★ Queen-sized bed topped with soft Egyptian cotton linens guaranteeing you a comfortable sleep
★ Kitchenette to make yourself some morning scrambled eggs
★ En-suite bathroom to take a nice shower after an exciting day.
★ Mini-fridge filled with different kind of beverages for you to enjoy
★ Small lock box to secure your belongings
★ Other included amenities are listed below.
Unlike many other spaces in Ho Chi Minh City, there is no curfew with us. In addition to having 24/7 access to the house and your studio, you can also use our laundry facilities, rooftop, common area/reading room, office and the open shared kitchen (on top of your own private kitchenette) at any time of the day. We can even plan a dinner together or have a drink upstairs on the rooftop if you like – it’s a great way to get to know each other and meet other guests. Just make yourself at home :)
We respect the privacy of our guests, but are available if there is anything you need help with or even to just hang out and have a beer or a delicious local snack. Some of our team members even live in the premises. Come hang out with us in the common area or send us a message if you don’t see us around.
Tien’s home is located in Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. Our home is tucked away in an alley, away from all the noise of Saigon’s busy streets. Everything you need is only a few steps away – 24/7 convenience stores, restaurants, bars, cafes, shopping. There are many restaurants and coffee shops serving diverse menus, scattered around the alley. We’re also about a 10-minute walk away from Ben Thanh Market and all that it entails, and just a 5-minute walk from the backpacker district consisting of Bui Vien and De Tham, as well. Nguyen Hue (Walking Street) and the tourist sites that surround it aren’t far off either – so you can make a great day out of exploring our alleys and sights! With everything located so conveniently close to you, there’s not much else you’d need in a city like this. We’ll gladly recommend places for you to go if you are overwhelmed with your choices!
Don’t be overwhelmed by the motorcycles on the road – walk around, cross our streets, get some Banh Mi and go to September 23rd Park or have a Ca Phe Sua Da on the sidewalk like a local.
You are only a walking distance away from many restaurants and markets, but taxis are readily available too for ~15k VND per km, or you can opt for Grab and GoViet (transportation apps similar to Uber), which are our recommended cost-saving options to explore the city with no hassle. They also offer the motorbike options so that you can get around easily even during rush hours. Ben Thanh city bus station is just in front of the market if you want to be adventurous and try our local buses to get to another part of the city. If you need any advice on catching one of these, just ask us and we will help you.
PS – when you are walking, do keep your belongings safe. Bag snatching and pickpocketing is a big issue here unfortunately (especially if you are a tourist) and we don’t want your holiday to be ruined.
We highly recommend that you take advantage of Onetrip’s donation-based City Tour run by local university students seeking cultural exchange opportunities with foreign travelers. It is a great way to orient yourself within the city and see all the beautiful landmarks of Saigon. Not to mention, it is a favorite among our guests! We also offer an Evening Food Tour to fill your tummy up with what we think are the best local yumyums. Other options include the Mekong Delta and Cu Chi Tunnels Adventure. If interested, do send us a message and we will save you a seat! <3
Our #1 RULE is to treat our home as if it were your own - unless your home resembles that of a college frat house, in which case think of your grandma’s home instead =) With that being said, the following rules are implemented out of necessity in order to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort.
STRICTLY NO SMOKING inside the property. Any signs of smoking inside our property will result in a USD$250 cleaning fee for restoration of our property and availability loss to get the unit ready for our next guests. Additionally, we reserve our rights to ask guests who break our policies to leave immediately without refund.
MUST REGISTER all over-night visitors. This is actually required by the law but is also a good practice to ensure everyone's safety. You will be held completely responsible for any wrongdoing such as causing damage, being negligent (ie: leaving the gate to our home unlocked), and being disrespectful to those around. Standard extra guest fees will also be applied accordingly.
NO SHOES inside the house. We understand this can be an issue for some people, but that is the Vietnamese custom and we also love to keep our floors clean. Maybe you’ll make a habit of it back home!
A SOCIAL ACCOMMODATION - We strive to provide you with a one-of-a-kind experience that is different to what you get at hotels and hostels – something more responsible, more human, and ultimately more valuable. We believe that our mission aligns perfectly well with Airbnb’s community. With that in mind, please do not treat our members or our services like you would at a hotel. If you’re looking for 24/7 room service, we strongly suggest that you book your accommodation elsewhere. But if you’re looking for a chilled out, cozy atmosphere…a home away from home, then by all means book with us.
HAVE RESPECT for those around you. All of the rules listed above are simply to encourage our guests to be respectful towards one another and together build a better, more social and responsible community.
CONSEQUENCES for breaking these rules can unfortunately result in the offender(s) being asked to leave, in addition to providing compensation for losses or damages caused. We will have complete discretion on whether to offer a refund for the unused portion of the reservation. So far, we have not asked any guest to leave and we would prefer to keep it that way for as long as we can, so please help us keep the friendly streak going.
Other than that, all that is left to say is that we hope you have a wonderful stay and that you will fall in love with this beautiful city just like we did.
The place was very nice. Very clean, bed and shower very nice. Can use washing machine and dryer. Internet was not the best and I ended up using my mobile phone internet almost the whole time. Note that there is extreme constructions going on in the alley right now, from 8am to 5pm. Can be annoying at times, but I still give 5 stars because it's not their fault. Hopefully it finish soon.
