This studio is one of 7 in a mini apartment building.

About the place

The Schatz House

Welcome to Christina's Saigon! If you can venture into our alleys here, you can venture into alleys anywhere. The alleys are where Christina’s is at our best!

Alley (Hem) 270/2 Le Thanh Ton is located in the middle of the city, just steps from Ben Thanh Market and numerous bars and restaurants in the tourist district of Pham Ngu Lao. Step outside to explore the Vietnamese café culture in the surround block or stay in to escape from the 24/7 city-bustle of Saigon for a peaceful night of sleep.

At this house, our common space includes a large common area, a full kitchen, and a cozy rooftop perfectly suitable for a makeshift romantic evening (reservation required for private use!)

This homey studio is equipped to meet all your needs (refer full list below). The queen-sized bed is topped by a firm but very comfortable mattress and your sleep will only be further enhanced by our soft Egyptian cotton linens. You will also have your own kitchenette for making your morning pancakes, and of course, an en-suite bathroom that is perfect for a warm shower after a long hard day. Don’t worry about lighting as the windows bring in plenty of natural light to brighten up your stay. The common kitchen is just two floors down and the rooftop is also a quick elevator ride/walk up to the 4th floor. Here you can do your laundry or sit down at the table, surround yourself by potted greenery, and have a beer or read a book as you blend into the Saigon skyline.

Guest access

Unlike many other spaces in Ho Chi Minh City, there is no curfew at Christina's. In addition to having 24/7 access to the apartment, you can also use our laundry facilities, rooftop, lounge area, and shared kitchen (on top of your own private kitchenette) at any time!

We can even plan a dinner together if you like or have a drink upstairs on the rooftop – just let us know!

Interaction with guests

We respect the privacy of our guests, but are available if there is anything you need help with or even to just hang out and have a beer or a delicious local snack. Some of our team members even live in the premises. Come hang out with us in the common area or send us a message if you don’t see us around.

The neighborhood

Our home is tucked away in an alley, away from all the noise of Saigon’s busy streets. Everything you need is only a few steps away – 24hr convenience stores, restaurants, bars, cafes and even parks. We’re also less than a 5-minute walk away from Ben Thanh Market and all that it entails, and around 10-minute walk from the backpacker district consisting of Bui Vien and Pham Ngu Lao, as well. Nguyen Hue (Walking Street) and the tourist sites that surround it aren’t far off either – so you can make a great day out of exploring our alleys and sights.

With everything located so conveniently close to you, there’s not much else you’d need in a city like this. We’ll gladly recommend places for you to go if you are overwhelmed with your choices.

Getting around

Don’t be overwhelmed by the motorcycles on the road – walk around, cross our streets, get some Banh Mi and go to September 23rd Park or have a Ca Phe Sua Da on the sidewalk like a local. You are only a walking distance away from many restaurants and markets, but taxis are readily available too for ~15k VND per km, but Grab (Uber of Southeast Asia) and GoViet (Strategic partner with GoJek) are the cheapest options to get around with no hassle. They also offer bike options so you can avoid traffic.

Bus station is just inside the September 23rd Park if you want to be adventurous and try our local buses to get to another part of the city. If you need any advice on catching one of these, just ask us and we will help you.

Other things to note

We highly recommend that you take advantage of Onetrip’s donation-based City Tour run by local university students seeking cultural exchange opportunities with foreign travelers. It is a great way to see the city and a big favorite for our guests.

Onetrip is the #1 ranked tour operator offering Evening Food Tour and other experiences, including the Mekong Delta and the Cu Chi Tunnels Adventure. Just send us a message if you need help booking an experience.

House rules

Our #1 RULE is to treat our home as if it were your own - unless your home resembles that of a college frat house, in which case think of your grandma’s home instead =) With that being said, the following rules are implemented out of necessity in order to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort.

STRICTLY NO SMOKING inside the property. Any signs of smoking inside our property will result in a USD$250 cleaning fee for restoration of our property and availability loss to get the unit ready for our next guests. Additionally, we reserve our rights to ask guests who break our policies to leave immediately without refund.

MUST REGISTER all over-night visitors. This is actually required by the law but is also a good practice to ensure everyone's safety. You will be held completely responsible for any wrongdoing such as causing damage, being negligent (ie: leaving the gate to our home unlocked), and being disrespectful to those around. Standard extra guest fees will also be applied accordingly.

NO SHOES inside the house. We understand this can be an issue for some people, but that is the Vietnamese custom and we also love to keep our floors clean. Maybe you’ll make a habit of it back home!

A SOCIAL ACCOMMODATION - We strive to provide you with a one-of-a-kind experience that is different to what you get at hotels and hostels – something more responsible, more human, and ultimately more valuable. We believe that our mission aligns perfectly well with Airbnb’s community. With that in mind, please do not treat our members or our services like you would at a hotel. If you’re looking for 24/7 room service, we strongly suggest that you book your accommodation elsewhere. But if you’re looking for a chilled out, cozy atmosphere…a home away from home, then by all means book with us.

HAVE RESPECT for those around you. All of the rules listed above are simply to encourage our guests to be respectful towards one another and together build a better, more social and responsible community.

CONSEQUENCES for breaking these rules can unfortunately result in the offender(s) being asked to leave, in addition to providing compensation for losses or damages caused. We will have complete discretion on whether to offer a refund for the unused portion of the reservation. So far, we have not asked any guest to leave and we would prefer to keep it that way for as long as we can, so please help us keep the friendly streak going.

Other than that, all that is left to say is that we hope you have a wonderful stay and that you will fall in love with this beautiful city just like we did.

Really enjoyed my stay here! They were very responsive and helpful and provided many tips on local places to visit. I will definitely recommend to friends traveling to this area in the future!

Thuc’s place was awesome. Everything I needed and in a great location. The staff was really helpful and once I locked my key in my room and got a response within minutes of me reporting it.

The value and hospitality is hard to beat.

Great place and hospitality from the team at Christinas. I felt right at home from the beginning. Rooms are well kept and clean. People are really helpfull with information about the area, ideas for trips and general tips. The place is down an allyway so it is very quiet considering its great central location.
