The neighborhood

Our house is in a very nice location with very friendly people. You can see many food street sellers around Lotus house, it is very interesting to try, but please make sure that your stomach adapts to strange food.

Getting around

It is 2 minutes walking from Lotus house to main gate of Hue Imperial city. 15 minutes walking to Dong Ba market and taking 5 minutes more to get to Western food restaurants in Pham Ngu Lao str.,

It takes 15 minutes cycling from Lotus house to Thien Mu pagoda which was built in 1601.

Other things to note

Lotus house was built in 1930s with short and narrow doors which should be suitable for Vietnamese. We would love to get your attention!

Second thing is Lotus house sometimes suffers from high humidity in rainy season, it leads to sometimes the floor will be wet. However, just open the doors as often as possible, it is soon going dry.

Matthews place was great! We stayed there for 3 days and it was in a great location. We enjoyed the home feel of it as well as the cleanliness of the bedrooms. Having 3 bathrooms was very handy. Matthew was always very quick to respond and very helpful.

The house is exactly what we were looking for, convenient to great food and coffee, as well as the Citadel. Matthew was a perfect host, gave us great recommendations and even led us on a delicious food tour!

Perfect location, cute traditional home and amazing host! Matthew was the MVP of our entire vacation: he gave us great food and sightseeing advice for Hue AND Hoi An, organized a car for us to travel to Hoi An and even brought over some medical supplies after a minor incident at Bach Ma Nat’l Park. He truly goes above and beyond to be an amazing host and we’re so grateful to have stayed at his lovely place! Highly recommend this place!
