/ The love child of Los Angeles and Saigon. /

We're a five room bed and breakfast located in the laid-back neighborhood of Da Kao in District 1. Residing in a beautiful French colonial villa in a quiet alley, Bunker offers its guests not only a stylish and comfortable stay but insight into Saigon's growing urban culture. We’re an international team with deep roots in creative, interior design and the food and drink industries. We came together at Bunker to blend the classic spirit of Los Angeles with the fresh energy of Saigon.

This is a private two bedrooms unit inside of the Bunker's villa. Recently renovated from a back unit of the old colonial French Villa, the Da Kao Loft provides a poetic and cozy living experience with its unique and light filled layout. The main center piece of the space is the triple height living room that create an airy atmosphere for decompression after a long day exploring the city. The bedrooms are nested along the spiral staircase which attached to a side of the living room. The unit also comes with a fully equipped kitchen.

We would like to invite you to also spend quality down time on the rooftop. Here you can find yourself reading a book in the bathtub or sharing a bottle of wine with your travel companions.

Our breakfast bar is tucked below the rooms and extends out into the garden courtyard. While paying homage to the 90s era vibe, Bunker wanted to bring the quality of the food to today’s standards. Hot dogs and burgers are made using freshly baked buns from a local bakery. Hamburger patties and potatoes wedges are homemade and hand cut, respectively. Even the coffee is extracted from single-origin beans from Da Lat, Vietnam.

It’s our version of a straight off the block menu, filled with honest LA comfort food, plus some special touches such as lemon and peppermint cold brews. Our guests can enjoy 10% discount on all the items on the menu.

Behind the breakfast bar downstairs, you will find a little barber shop called Hoai Niem (Old-fashioned). Occupied by four young and enthusiastic man, they are well-known for their takes on adapting old Vietnamese hair style with love and passion. Only available through appointment.

Guest access

You're welcome to enjoy all the facilities we provide.

Interaction with guests

During the opening hours of the bar, our young and friendly staff would love to share the coolest things going on in the city with you.

The neighborhood

District 1 is not famous for being quiet. However, Da Kao, our neighborhood, provides an unique laid-back but up-and-coming vibe. Surrounded by many great places, whether you want traditional Vietnamese street food, hip cafés or bars, you can be there in less than 15 minutes walking.

It's also a nice 20 minute walk to Notre Dame, a 10 minute walk to the Saigon Zoo and a 5 minute walk to the famous love temple that Obama visited last May.

Getting around

Taxi Cabs are really easy to hail when you're out on the main street. Grab Motor and Car (share-ride app) is also available, cheap and popular.

Only use Mai Linh or Vinasun branded taxi. They're the most reliable companies.

Walk distance to:

• The Saigon Botanical Garden ( 10 mins)

• The Notre Dame & Independence Palace (20 mins)

• The War Remnants Museum (20 mins)

• Ngoc Hoang Pagoda ( 5 mins)

• Thi Nghe Market (200 years old legacy market) (15 mins walk, 5 mins taxi)

Other things to note

In case of all Bunker's rooms are booked up, we just opened a new beautiful space near-by called CAMP which's just 5 minute away from Bunker. Please go to my host profile to check it out.
