The difference between good and great is in the little things. What everyone has said is true. Great Large apartment, close enough to town when you know which way to go. The only problem was that the host himself wasn’t very hospitable. I arrived to an apartment with no drinking water, no kitchen tissue, no laundry detergent, no direction or information about the area, no bathing soap, no piece of fruit, no shampoo or conditioner, no idea how to run the hot water, which has its own way etc. I asked him about drinking water, he sent it. I asked about where to purchase an adapter (which I’m surprised isn’t in the apartment) he ignored that question so I went out to buy one and got scammed $20 on a bike ride that should have cost $4 on my first night in a new country. I told the host that he could make the apartment great by doing a 1 page house manual to show people how to settle into the place since there are no signs in English anywhere near the area and since things differ from country to country, like restaurant opening times, how best to get around, where to purchase supplies. He ignored that too. It felt like he’d become complacent because of all the positive reviews he’s getting and how capable his gateman is. Rent this place because it’s big, the AC is great and you’re independent and already familiar with the area. There is a washing machine but no detergent and you can’t go and buy a box of detergent for a few days stay. As I was checking out I was shocked to find he lives just next door. So at any point he could have checked to see how I was but didn’t. So, If you need a little help, don’t expect it from the host. The gateman is great but doesn’t speak a word of English. I found find the landlord’s complacency very disappointing and it soured the experience of my first few days in Vietnam. I still give him a positive review because technically, the house is a great space.

Had a pleasant stay at Bien Cuong's place. The apartment was spacious, safe, clean and had all necessary amenities/appliances. The staff was helpful. Good value. Recommended!
