The neighborhood

We are neighbours to a well respected cafe that has been running for 50 years where a quiet morning coffee is a ritual for locals. Waking up to the scent of the roasted coffee beans and bird chippings is a real luxury.

Getting around

You can get to the house from either end of the alley.

From Tran Phu street the address would be: 48/8 Trần Phú

From Phan Chu Trinh street the address would be: Alley 27 Phan Chu Trinh,

Please be noted that Tran Phu street is in the pedestrian zone while Phan Chu Trinh isn’t, so if you are coming with your vehicle better look for 27 Phan Chu Trinh.

Car park is available at the juncltion between Phan Chau Trinh and Hoang Dieu street which is only 50 meter away.

Our yard could be a safe parking lot for up to 03 motorbikes

Other things to note

Due to the strict rules applied for houses in Ancient town, there is NO Air Conditioner installed but the two evaporative Air Coolers will keep you cool during the tropical hot days. At night, natural breezes cools the place down significantly. Our windows are all set with mosquito nets.

A lovely quiet old house in a perfect location! No A/C, but the fans created enough of a cross breeze to be more than comfortable at night. I loved the dark wood, the old fashioned stairwell, and the amount of windows. It felt like a slice of the culture without being isolated on a resort. The amenities were spotless, and the kitchen was well prepped if you were to choose to cook a meal.

A 6 minute walk distance to Bebe tailors, and if you continue further down the narrowing alley way there is a route right to the old town and the river. Close to bars, eateries, shops, and spas this is truly in the perfect location.

Tam was a lovely host as well. Super responsive, they helped us to arrange a way to and from the DaNang airport which was a 45 minute ride away.

This lovely two story local home is in a fantastic location on a quiet alley in the old town. The home is very nicely decorated and spacious. There are windows on three sides in the second floor (bedroom) allowing for a cross breeze for ventilation. There is no AC due to UNESCO rules, but we stayed in December and January so temperatures were cool and we did not need it. There are plenty of fans throughout the home to aid in ventilation. We loved having a washing machine at the home, along with detergent provided. There was drinking water available in large jugs, and new ones were provided when we notified the owner the jugs were empty. The bikes were in great condition and we used them frequently. It was so nice to have them to bike out into the countryside and beach. Despite being in old town, it was relatively quiet at night even with all the windows open. There are several restaurants that set up tables in the alley at night, but they close up before 10pm. However, there is a local coffee shop directly next door, which did start set up around 6am, with most customers arriving around 7-7:30, so you will hear a bit of noise from that, but it is fairly minimal. This is a spacious and comfortable large home in the heart of old town. We would definitely stay here again.

A pretty space with nice furniture, greenery-filled porches upstairs and downstairs, and a great location made for a fun family stay. I appreciated the quick responses and helpful local tips, and we liked having the bikes available (they were great for a ride out to Tra Que gardens and An Bang beach). There were a few minor drawbacks (the entire bathroom gets wet after someone takes a shower), but overall it was a great choice and a great value for us!
