Bare Indochine hides in an old residential building at the heart of Saigon. From here you can take a leisure walk down the serene riverbank, while the breeze slips through your hair and sunlight filters through the trees and onto your footsteps. To meet Bare you must walk by aromatic curbside food carts where all the delicious authentic specialties are in display. Take the stairs to the second floor of C2 Residence and you encounter a space to "Bare".

Bare is a new friend, but an approachable one. Its palette recalls the Indochine-styled living space of Saigon in past decades. A grey-blue window with shining glass boxes. And now sunlight filters through the shutters and onto the pleasant green wall.

All furniture is carefully handpicked to combine nostalgic details with modern accentuation. You can cook yourself a square meal on the jet-black stone oven, simple yet convenient. Lay the table under the warm yellow light of the improvised paper chandelier.

You notice the Louis-aged wooden chair staring across its fashionable plastique version, renovated and renamed Ghost by the renowned Phillippe Starck. Maybe this is an intentional set-up for the past and presence to have an intimate conversation. The contrast between walnut lumber wood and colorful lacquer wardrobes. Everything dexterously placed on a graceful cement floor sprinkled with apricot-blossom patterns.

Interaction with guests

If you have any questions about the apartment, the neighborhood, or just want insider tips on the best places to eat, get in touch with me, Bare - your friendly local host. Message me on Whatapp, WeChat or via Airbnb messaging. Want a more personal introduction to Vietnam? I'm happy to meet up with you in downtown, hang out for a while and chat about the essential Ho Chi Minh City sights.

The neighborhood

It’s all about the location. You’re just a three-minute stroll from The Vietnam History Museum, a 24/7 family marketplace, the local market and Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens — Vietnam's largest zoo and botanical garden (dating back to 1865).

Local shops and restaurants are also minutes away, including Pho and The Lunch Lady - one of the most famous street food stalls in the city.

The locals love it here, and the vendor sells a different Vietnamese noodle dish every day — a great excuse for repeat visits! In between all the sightseeing and sampling street food, be sure to take a walk to the riverfront. It's a short meander from your front door with plenty of tree-shaded sidewalks to enjoy lazy strolls.

Getting around

Transportation in Ho Chi Minh City is easy. There are plenty of Taxies: Vinasun, Mai Linh, Grab, or public transportation. Also, bike riding is easy and convenient. Or if you prefer to just walk there are plenty of sidewalks in the shade of trees along the river. Museums, shops, dining are all within a short walk of the apartment. Looking to explore further? I'm happy to help guide you through Ho Chi Minh City's public bus system. Motorbike parking is available for 10.000 VND/night. Complimentary maps and personal recommendations of what to eat, drink, and see during your stay are provided for your convenience.

Other things to note

I want all of my guests to feel at home the moment they walk in the door. I gladly provide light refreshments, like drinks or noodles, to help you feel refreshed upon arrival. Please feel free to note any preferences in your inquiry.

Check In

Stylist place in a building full of locals. It has a nice touch, spacious place. A good place for privacy. The place is away from tourists mostly but the Lunch Lady very nearby attracts lots of tourists to the area during lunch time. Overall a good place to stay.
