###The house is located in the Backpacker area (City center)
•It's a 4-storey house, I am living on the ground floor. The kitchen is always free for use. The washing machine and fridge is always available. Specially, with the CLOTHES DRYER on the top floor, the time spent on washing clothes will be significantly reduced. There is a private entrance which is the back door so you can enter and leave the house without being afraid of disturbing me.
•My house is at 57/13 Bui Vien-District1-Ho Chi Minh City. When you enter alley 57 Bui Vien, stick onto your LEFT to the end of the alley, then you will find my house
•From Tan Son Nhat airport, you can catch a taxi or Grab to my place. Price is about 150,000 VND. Or you catch bus No.109 or 152, it will ride you straight to 23/9 Park which is 100 meters away from my place.
###NOTICE: DON’T ever let the taxi driver get the money from your hand with the reason he can count it for you faster. As there were cases when taxi drivers took much more than what you should pay.
•You guys will have your own room key and backdoor key. You can go in and out any time you like with your private keys. Don't be afraid to return to the place late because I usually stay up very late ^^. When coming and out, you should lock the backdoor carefully. I am almost available all the time, thus if there may be any questions that you guys may have, I will always be there for you.
•We are always available 24/7. If you need help, you can go downstairs to meet us or send us a message, we’ll respond immediately.
•We are a group of newly university graduates hosting together. We love making friends by the way exchanging cultures with everybody from all over the world.
•Being invited some Vietnamese traditional snack sometimes is something you cannot avoid. Our relatives from the countryside often send us their regional specialties which we always share to our guests.
•Besides the well-advertised tourist attractions of the city on the internet, there are many hidden local places and local food which, to us, is commonplace, but to foreign travelers, is a big surprise and excitement. Don’t let your trip to Saigon be like what you see on the Internet, it can be more. And we’ll help facilitate it by showing you those places or even driving you to those places on our motorbikes.
District 1 is the center of Ho Chi Minh City, my place is located right in the center of District 1. (Center of center ^^). You will fall in love with everything here, because my place is just within walking distance to all the major attractions here.
oA few steps from the alley, you can reach the Bui Vien walking street, where all happening actions happen. This is also the “nightlife” street.
oBen Thanh market is just 5 mins walking
o24/7 convenience stores are available everywhere
If you guys can drive a scooter, that would be perfect. I will take you to the local store and help you rent one. Otherwise, the best option is hailing a Grab or taxi. The city’s major tourist attractions are less than 20 mins walk. If you would like to go further, I can show you the very popular bus station, FUTA bus line, you can catch one and go anywhere you like in Vietnam.
•NOTE: while walking, pay attention to your belongings. Bag snatching and pickpocketing is a concerning issue here in Vietnam unfortunately. I don’t want your holiday to be ruined.
•Besides popular tourist attractions such as: Independence Palace, Nguyen Hue Walking street, War Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, Ben Thanh market, etc, there are off-the-beaten-track corners of the city, where you can see and immerse yourself in the daily living activities of the local, that I bet once you visit, you can bang on your chest proudly: “I have seen and felt the entire Saigon”
•Normally, if your group is 2 people or fewer and you are interested in understanding the city in depth, we will drive you on our motorbikes to see the real city and enjoy the best local food. “How about the fee for the trip?”-you may ask. Well, the fee is a gesture of excitement about knowing more of the city and a thank you after the trip. That’s enough for us.
•However if your group is bigger, there are groups of local university students who are seeking cultural exchange opportunities with foreign travelers by offering Saigon unseen tours. They have Streetfood tour, Saigon unseen tour or mixed. If interested, do notify us, we will give you their contact.
•Besides, if you would like to go to Cu Chi Tunnels, Mekong Delta or Monkey Island, please send us a message and we will save you a seat.
Guys, I’m very easy-going, if you would like something, please let me know in advance, I’ll try my best to facilitate it. However, there are some things that you should take notice
•After 10pm, please keep the noise level low so as not to disturb the neighbors.
•When going in and out, please open and close the door gently.
•Illegal activities such as: prostitution, illegal drugs (including marijuana), etc. are not accepted here. If accidents happen, the police will come and I will get into big trouble. So PLEASE take this into consideration.
Stayed here for 3 nights. It is a step up from a hostile and good value for the price. I appreciated having a comfortable, air conditioned place to go to rest that was private and had reliable wifi.
- Close to nightlife, walkable to a lot of places (stuff around the area can be priced a bit higher because it’s a tourist area, so venture out for better deals.)
-A/C got very cold! (It requires the key to turn on so it is only active while you are there. It takes a bit to cool down once you come back from being gone all day.)
-Free water (downstairs in the common kitchen. It’s a large jug, so you’ll need your own bottle or a saved plastic one to take advantage of this. There are water bottles in the room, but they ask that you leave money for those.)
-Tucked away from the busy street, so it wasn’t too loud (could still hear some noise, mostly from the neighbors).
Can’t complain too much because of the cost, but —
-It states there are 2 beds in the listing, but there was only one. Since it said 2 beds in the listing, I did not ask ahead of time for the floor cot. If you’re traveling with a relative or a friend and aren’t looking to share a bed, ask ahead of time.
-There was a strange, mildew-y odor in the apartment and some roaches. I’m sure those things can be hard to manage in the tropical climate - just be aware!
Great location right off one of the main walking streets full of bars, clubs, and restaurants. Because of the location, you can hear some noise at night but we were still able to sleep. The hosts are super responsive and helped us organize local tours.
